ACL Dutch Open 2026 (Regional Event / Former Tier 3)
The ACL Dutch Open will move to Castricum this year, right along the beautiful Dutch coastline.
This tournament is always one of the biggest events in the ACL Europe Series, bringing together many of Europe’s top players for a weekend of high-level competition and great atmosphere.
This event will be played for Regional level points (former Tier 3).
Sporthal De Bloemen in Castricum will be the location for this event, ideal for the Dutch Open. Without a doubt, this location has everything to offer that we need for a fantastic event!

Tournament Format
- On Friday afternoon/evening we play the fun CREW CUP format in which you play with a team of 4 all on the same court! Two players on each side, throwing 2 bags each. For the registration, only 1 person from the team has to buy a ticket. This event is a non-ACL points event
- Singles will be played in a rounders format + double elimination (number of rounds in rounders depending on number of players). NOTE: There will be a maximum of 160 players for SINGLES at this event!
- Novice Singles will be played for NEW players to the game (PPR <5). This event is a non-points event

Doubles will be played in a rounders format + double elimination (number of rounds in rounders depending on number of teams)

Swap will be played in a Round Robin format + double elimination (or single elimination depending on timing)

About Castricum
Castricum is a village shaped by land, sea, and history, just thirty minutes from Amsterdam and easily reached by public transport. It offers the best of both worlds: the calm of a coastal village with Amsterdam and historic cities like Haarlem and Alkmaar always close by, and the sea so near you can almost smell it.
Its origins reach back to a 9th-century ring fortress built to defend the coast against Viking raids. During World War II, the dunes became part of the Atlantic Wall, traces of which can still be found today, and nearby bunkers were used to safeguard national treasures, including Rembrandt’s Night Watch. Today, those same dunes protect vital drinking water reserves managed by PWN. Just beyond them lies Camping Bakkum, one of the Netherlands’ largest and most famous campsites, long known as “Little Mokum.” Rooted in history yet open to the present, Castricum is a place where nature, heritage, and even modern sports like cornhole now feel right at home.
